Who I am…

I’m Kait, and I’m so glad you’re here!

It is my passion & joy to support new and hopeful mothers & families on Southern Vancouver Island.

I am passionate about many things, which together make up my unique life perspective and the care that I offer:

Freedom & autonomy, health (emotional & physical), healing, motherhood & fatherhood as journeys of self-discovery, holistic family health, connection (to self, others, nature, & God) and art of all kinds.

I have spent the majority of my life caring for others, in some capacity. I received my Bachelor of Midwifery degree with honours in 2013 from Otago University in Dunedin, New Zealand. Prior to that I was a founding member of the West Coast Doula Collective, and spent several years supporting women in the West Coast communities of Ucluelet, Tofino, and Port Alberni on Vancouver Island, Canada.

I gave birth to my daughter in 2014 and then worked as a professional midwife in the Greater Victoria area from 2016-2021. I now offer holistic care to growing families as a non-medical guide, support, and coach. I have found this work to be deeply satisfying, as it provides time to develop truly meaningful relationships with my clients. It is a great honour to journey with families through the thresholds of growth, and I am always amazed by the reciprocity and growth I also experience as a result.

Outside of family care work, I am also an artist, space holder and certified yoga instructor (200 hr), and an instructor for the Holistic Doula Program at Pacific Rim College in Victoria, BC.

Tending gardens, animals, and children, creating beauty and inspiring healing & growth wherever I can is what motivates me and keeps me grounded.

I currently live on acreage in Metchosin with my love Tom and daughter Imogen, along with Tuna the Cat, two bunnies and 8 happy ducks.
